Apurva Jain Joins OnePlus as Head of Indian Sales Strategy & Business Planning

OnePlus, one of India’s leading premium smartphone and technology brands, has announced the appointment of Apurva Jain as the new Head – Indian Sales Strategy & Business Planning. With a career spanning over 17 years, Apurva brings a wealth of expertise in sales leadership, trade marketing, and channel development across India’s dynamic consumer electronics market.

Apurva’s new role at OnePlus is seen as a strategic move to further strengthen the brand’s market leadership in India, especially at a time when competition is intensifying across both premium and mid-range smartphone segments. His mandate includes steering national sales initiatives, optimizing channel strategy, and enhancing market penetration in urban and rural markets alike.

Prior to joining OnePlus, Apurva had an illustrious 11+ year stint at Samsung Electronics, where he played a pivotal role in driving growth across multiple verticals. He held key leadership positions including Senior Manager – Mobile Exclusive Category, Zonal Sales Manager, and Senior Manager – Retail Marketing. His contributions were instrumental in shaping Samsung’s retail expansion, mobile category positioning, and sales enablement strategies across the country.

In addition to Samsung, Apurva also held significant roles at Lava International Limited, Virgin Mobile India, and Vodafone, where he worked on national-level go-to-market plans, trade engagement models, and customer acquisition strategies. Across these organizations, he consistently delivered strong business outcomes and helped create scalable frameworks for channel growth and consumer engagement.

Apurva’s appointment comes at a time when OnePlus is not only expanding its smartphone portfolio but also diversifying into new categories like AIoT, tablets, and wearables. His experience in large-scale distribution and deep understanding of India’s offline and online retail ecosystems are expected to be key assets in accelerating OnePlus’s next phase of growth.

Industry watchers see this move as part of OnePlus’s broader focus on consolidating its leadership in India’s premium tech ecosystem and further strengthening its retail and partner networks.
