Dell Technologies, announces the appointment of Manish Gupta as its new President and Managing Director for India, effective immediately. He succeeds Alok Ohrie, who is stepping down to focus on personal priorities and spend more time with his family.
A seasoned Dell veteran with over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, Gupta will report directly to Peter Marrs, President of Asia Pacific Japan & Greater China (APJC) at Dell Technologies. His appointment comes at a pivotal time as Dell sharpens its focus on digital transformation, AI-driven enterprise solutions, and deepening partner engagement across the Indian market.
Throughout his tenure at Dell, Gupta has held several leadership positions, including roles in global alliances, channel strategy, and leading the Infrastructure Solutions Group in India. His contributions have been instrumental in strengthening Dell’s position in enterprise infrastructure and hybrid cloud technologies.
“Manish’s strategic acumen, technical expertise, and unwavering focus on customer success make him the right leader to steer Dell India through its next phase of innovation and growth,” Marrs stated in an internal memo. He also commended Alok Ohrie for his “remarkable contributions” to Dell’s India journey.
Commenting on his new role, Gupta said, “India stands at a transformational moment in tech adoption. With a world-class team and a vibrant innovation ecosystem, Dell is uniquely positioned to accelerate digital transformation. I’m honored to lead at a time when AI, edge computing, and cloud are reshaping enterprise landscapes.”
Gupta holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Panjab University. He is also a Fulbright-Nehru Fellow for Leadership in Management from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business.
This leadership transition underlines Dell’s long-term commitment to India as a strategic growth and innovation hub within the Asia-Pacific region.
