Ans: Becoming a member of the ViewSonic family five years ago was an incredible experience. I’ve been in the industry for a long time, but my tenure at ViewSonic has been spectacular. I joined ViewSonic as Business Head – AV and was in charge of ViewSonic’s marketing and sales initiatives in the Indian market.
As my position progressed, I am now responsible for AV and EdTech products, distribution channels, and distribution to the company. My responsibilities at ViewSonic India include business and market development, account management, market research management, and strategic direction for brand visibility and awareness
Q2. Major achievements in new Role.
Ans: As vice president, I am responsible for the sales and marketing of ViewSonic’s audio-visual and EdTech segments in India. My core responsibility areas include ensuring that the brand’s marketing plans are in line with the company’s goals and objectives in order to boost sales, growth, and customer satisfaction.
My greatest achievement is having an incredible team that assists and is focused on delivering results. My team’s hard work in the Ed-tech segment can be regarded as an impressive achievement. The brand has driven toward significant growth in the interactive display market and has been focused on providing quality hardware and software solutions in the EdTech segment. As a result, we have been the leading IFP brand since 2020, and in 2021, we gained a market share of 55%. Our integrated software, myViewBoard, is a comprehensive visual learning platform that enhances engagement with rich information and sophisticated administration to produce an immersive and dynamic learning environment. With a user base of more than 5 million, this visual learning software suite has established itself as a pioneer in its industry.
Additionally, we are leveraging our Edtech solutions, aiming to capture our presence across India and associate with state governments. For example, we recently won a tender to provide 1300 interactive flat panels (IFPs) for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) digital classroom project. Under this project, we installed 1300 IFPs with the myViewBoard software, allowing a seamless move to digital education and opening up new possibilities for educators and students. We are also strengthening our presence by contributing to Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), the Government of India’s flagship programme in some of the states such as Jharkhand and Bihar. Establishing ourselves as the leading EdTech solution provider with integrated software, we have helped over 1000+ classrooms with its interactive flat panels and software.
In our projector segment, we have observed a 42 per cent market share. With a global market share of 65.71 per cent, ViewSonic secured the number one position in the LED projector category. Also, ViewSonic became the No.1 brand in Digital Light Processing (DLP) projectors globally by sales volume in 2021.
Q3. Market in Ed Tech showed immense opportunity how ViewSonic is addressing this segment.
Ans: In the past five years, I have seen an evolution in the ed-tech sector, and there is expected to be an unprecedented growth in the coming years. We have seen a huge shift and adoption towards innovative edtech products and solutions, as the implementation of newer technology is capturing the ed-tech space.
Observing a promising opportunity, we entered the ed-tech segment developing products and solutions that can meet the industry and consumer requirements.
Since the pandemic, the segment has thrived, and we stepped forward to create unique solutions for our consumers and played an essential role in the growth of the education industry. We introduced integrated hardware and software solutions compatible with the hybrid model. During this period, we launched myViewBoard, a collaborative teaching software that played a crucial role in providing educators with an interactive platform. The software allowed teachers to conduct distant learning, supporting students and their learning outcomes. Our products enabled teachers to transition to hybrid learning smoothly and seamlessly. Our edtech solutions are constantly updated and cater to the smallest details, making it simple for educators to teach students. We also provide devices like Woodpad and ViewBoard Pen display to support the hybrid learning approach.
Q4. Latest product highlights for Indian market
Ans: ViewSonic ensures that its products are maintained to abreast with the current technological trends. During my recent tenure, we launched the LED-based projector segment. The projectors include various features and are specifically designed to meet the needs of the Indian economy. Furthermore, the products are environmentally friendly and long-lasting. As a result, demand for 4K and lamp-free projectors has increased significantly in the market. Our main objective is to provide our customers with the best projectors for home entertainment, education, and the corporate sector. We recently launched a line of projectors in India.
This year, we launched multiple projectors embedded with LED technologies, such as the M series, X series and LS series. Both the lamp-based and LED projectors focus on giving an immersive viewing experience but possess different features. LED technology has better brightness, efficiency, reliability, durability, and longevity. Witnessing a huge demand for our product, we are focusing on upgrading both LED and lamp-based technologies.
