MapmyIndia, India’s leading digital mapping, geospatial software and location-based IoT deep-tech company, has won praise on social media for powering the navigation function on the Ola S1 electric scooter with its map service. This is the first time that embedded navigation has been integrated onto a two-wheeler, instead of a smartphone projection-based experience.
The Navigation app on the Ola S1 electric scooter, which is powered by MapmyIndia, packs in the following features:
- Best-in-class navigation and interaction with the two-wheeler
- Find places of interest easily on the map with Intelligent Search
- Locate places with a Mappls Pin (6-digit short code), address, name or house number
- Get a route preview before embarking on the journey
- Navigate to the destination with turn-by-turn guided directions, right up to the doorstep
- View traffic in real-time on the dashboard, with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for the ride
- Switch between Day and Night themes for better legibility
Following a video posted by a user commending MapmyIndia for a lag-free, responsive navigation experience, other social media users were quick to praise the features and recommend using the MapmyIndia on the mobile phone as well.
Rohan Verma, CEO & Executive Director, MapmyIndia, responded to the post by hailing the Ola Electric team with a tweet saying, “Kudos to the @OlaElectric team of @bhash 4 a really gr8 job integrating @MapmyIndia.o Incredible to c the hard work, long hours n passion of both the Ola & MapmyIndia teams working together on this 4 a year.
