Miko, the India-born global robotics leader partners with Gaana, India’s biggest audio streaming platform. Gaana will offer music across different genres accessible to kids globally through Miko 2, the robot for playful learning.

The year 2020 saw a 40% increase in music streaming across platforms in India. This made consumption patterns and the need for music streaming apparent across the nation. Miko also opened its platform allowing developers and third-party content partners to integrate their content on the Miko 2 robot. This allows the abilities of Miko to grow every month with newer apps and activities across music, fun, education, health and STEAM.

With the aim of bringing this service to children globally, Miko and Gaana’s partnership makes history as the former’s first music streaming collaboration. The service is a default integration for all premium subscribers under the company’s Miko Max program. Miko Max is the subscription program that brings to users a unified and wholesome experience of premium content and exclusive offerings with quarterly and yearly subscription plans.

However, in light of the pandemic and the difficulties it brings to young kids in lockdown, Miko will make this streaming service free and available from July ‘21 to all Miko users ad-free, regardless of Max memberships during the lockdown period. “It is important that companies realize the need of the hour and understand their corporate responsibilities. Making this partnership freely available to all users is a small contribution from Miko to the Miko family,” Sneh Vaswani, Co-founder and CEO, Miko.

This collaboration will also be Gaana’s first venture in robotics after curating and offering an extensive collection of stories, jokes and rhymes for kids within their app ecosystem. “Bringing our offering to young children is a very exciting opportunity and a novel market for Gaana and we are very excited to partner with Miko and its team,” Gautam Sinha, CEO, Gaana.

Miko 2 is at the epicenter of the child-development technology arena and with this partnership it continues to contribute to the field.
