DeviceNext interviewed  Mr. Mayank Chachra, Representative, ZHIYUN India regarding its latest product line and 2022 plan for India.

What are your views about the mobile accessories market in India?

The mobile accessory market clocked USD 81.4 bn in 2019 and is expected to reach USD 152.03 bn BY 2029. In India, it is growing at rocket speed. Accessories are the things that help you do more with your smartphone, and to be able to unleash its full calibre one is always going to rely on quality accessories. The market is set to grow exponentially.

Photography and videography now have gone all together into a new level, due to video creators and viewership, how your new product line helps creators.


Our New Products are basically designed for smartphones and DSLR cameras which help one shoot videos without any noise. Be it still or video, the first requirement for a creator is stability. Our product- SMOOTHQ3 is a smartphone gimbal that helps them shoot with a feature-rich three-axis gimbal, that comes with a unique rotatable fill light, 17 smart templates, and boasts a simplified and detail-oriented. The second gimbal launched WEEBILL 2 is the exciting reinvention of the iconic DSLR gimbal WEEBILL which enables, both, creativity, and professionalism for the users in every still or video they capture.

Tell us more about Zhiyun India and its latest product line and its unique features?

Zhiyun India is basically ZHIYUN’s representative in India which is operated by the distributor of global technology and research. In terms of products, we focus mainly on camera stabilizers for DSLR and smartphones. Apart from this, we maintain after-sales for the Indian customers.

New products are the WEEBILL 2 Series and the Smooth-Q3 series.

The two main features of the Weebill 2 series are auto face tracking and live video transmission in the inbuilt monitor display of the Gimbal.

And if we talk about the SMOOTH Q3 series the main USP of this model is the built-in LED light and smart cinematic modes in the gimbal app.


How many products are you planning for the India market in the near future?

We already have a road map for Indian Market. We are looking at launching close to 6-7 new gimbals in 2022 itself.

 What will be your go-to-market strategy?

We do not see any competition with any other brand in the market because we are the only gimbal suppliers in India who have a dedicated service centre in the country, and we provide same-day parts replacement services to the customers. Hence, our market strategy is to keep the customer happy and give unique post-sales support.

We are also providing free training to customers on every purchase. The price we are offering is 30% lower than the other brands selling in the same category and market. Also, our products are available on Amazon & Flipkart with a 14-day return policy.
