Sennheiser launches HDB 630 wireless audiophile headphones in India

Sennheiser has expanded its premium audio lineup in India with the launch of the HDB 630, a new pair of wireless audiophile-grade headphones priced at ₹44,990. The company is targeting serious listeners who want high-fidelity sound without compromising on portability or wireless convenience.

Pre-bookings begin November 28 across major online and offline retailers, and early customers will receive a complimentary pair of Accentum Open earbuds (worth ₹12,990) as an introductory offer.

Aiming for Pure, Neutral, Studio-Grade Sound

At the heart of the HDB 630 is a commitment to neutral, reference-quality audio, a tuning philosophy preferred by purists who want the sound exactly as recorded. Sennheiser has developed a new transducer with an optimized magnet mesh, allowing better airflow control—resulting in cleaner bass, refined mids, and more natural detail reproduction.

Closed-back headphones typically struggle with spaciousness, but Sennheiser has implemented a specialized acoustic back volume system to simulate a wider soundstage. This engineering approach helps create a sense of depth and “room-like” openness, unusual for closed-back wireless headphones.

Supports 24-bit/96 kHz Hi-Res Audio on Both Bluetooth and USB-C

Sennheiser has equipped the HDB 630 with 24-bit/96 kHz high-resolution audio support—not only over USB-C but also wirelessly. The company is also promoting its BTD 700 Hi-Res Bluetooth dongle as an optional add-on for users who want maximum compatibility.

With the dongle, device support for hi-res wireless listening increases from around 16% to over 80%, making it significantly easier for users to enjoy full-quality playback across laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Advanced Personalization: Parametric EQ & Crossfeed

The HDB 630 integrates deeper sound customization via Sennheiser’s companion app:

Parametric Equalizer (PEQ)

Unlike standard bass/treble sliders, the PEQ allows fine-tuning of exact frequency bands—an essential tool for audiophiles seeking total control over their sound signature.

Crossfeed

This feature subtly blends left and right channels to emulate the experience of listening to stereo speakers. Particularly helpful for older recordings with dramatic channel separation, Crossfeed provides a more natural, less fatiguing listening experience.

Premium Design, Tried-and-Tested Comfort, and Massive Battery Life

The HDB 630 borrows its structural framework from the popular MOMENTUM 4 series, known for its long-session comfort and even weight distribution. The ear cushions are made from Japanese Ideatex protein-leatherette, offering durability while maintaining softness for extended use.

Battery performance is another major highlight:

  • Up to 60 hours playback on a full charge

  • 10-minute fast charge = ~7 hours of listening

Whether for travel, daily work, or studio-style listening, the headphones are designed to minimize charging anxiety.

Longevity, Serviceability, and Sustainability Measures

Sennheiser has reinforced its focus on durability by testing the battery for more than 500 charge cycles and designing the headphones with replaceable earpads—a major benefit for long-term users.

A two-year warranty further boosts confidence for premium buyers.
