Infinix has played smart with its latest budget smartphone – Infinix Smart 7. It sets the benchmark for the price at which you get loads of features. At a competitive price of INR 7,299, the Infinix Smart 7 boasts of a large HD+ display of 6.6 inches, a mega 6000 mAh battery, 7GB of RAM (including 3GB virtual RAM), Unisoc octa-core processor and a 13MP dual AI rear camera. The massive battery coupled with the phone’s big display and expandable storage makes the Infinix Smart 7 an entertainment and endurance champion.

Specs that Matter

Adding the swag is the phone’s design, the wave pattern design on the back gives Infinix Smart 7 a modern and premium look. In addition, the back is antibacterial as the panel has a positive silver-ion charged coating. The phone is available in three colour options – Night Black, Emerald Green and Azure Blue. The big 6.6-inch HD+ display has a waterdrop notch on top that houses a 5 MP front camera. The display offers a 1600×720 pixels resolution with 500nits brightness that is vibrant enough to be completely viewable outdoors.

WBE-ads

Under the hood, the Smart 7 has a UniSoc octa-core processor, 4GB RAM, and 64 GB internal storage. The RAM might seem a little low, but again Infinix has played smart here. The RAM can be pumped up to 7GB, which includes an additional 3GB of virtual RAM from internal storage to the device’s 4GB RAM. So, the user can get an expanded RAM of up to 7GB for multitasking and smooth performance. The 64GB internal storage can be expanded up to 2TB via a dedicated microSD card slot. The phone has a triple card slot for dual SIMs and a microSD card. Infinix Smart 7 runs on XOS 12, which is based on Android 12. Coming to cameras, the Infinix Smart 7 sports a 13MP dual AI camera with dual LED flash as the primary camera on the rear. It has a fingerprint scanner just on side of the dual cameras at the back. Going by the trend, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner would have been preferred, but in this budget-segment having a fingerprint scanner is an added feature. In terms of connectivity options, the Infinix Smart 7 supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Performance

In this price-sensitive segment, these specs make Infinix Smart 7 a solid performer. Its big display makes the movie-watching experience fun and engaging. The phone’s cameras deliver sharp and vivid images with accurate colours in good lighting conditions, but in low light, the camera’s performance is satisfactory with some visible grains. The videos can be recorded in full HD and are jitter-free with no missing frames. The front 5MP camera is supported with an LED flash to click selfies in low-light places. The huge battery of 6000mAh ensures that it keeps the phone working from dawn to dusk with moderate usage of calls, video streaming and browsing; and the Smart 7 would still have enough juice left at the day-end for binge-watching on OTT apps. However, the Type-C charge support takes due time to charge up the battery to full capacity. So, it is advisable to charge the phone every alternate night, if you are a regular user.

Verdict

The price of INR 7,299 makes Infinix Smart 7 a great budget smartphone that surely packs a punch with its package of features and trendy looks. For someone who wants a phone for daily tasks, a good display and media consumption, Infinix Smart 7 is a smart investment that will not disappoint in performance and battery backup, while being pocket friendly.
