realme, India’s Most Reliable Smartphone Service Provider, recently released its “2022 Sustainability Report”. This marks the first time realme has issued a sustainability report to showcase its initiatives in five key areas: green products, smart innovation, talent training, contribution to society, and corporate governance.

As a global technology brand popular among young people, realme pays close attention to the impact of its development on the economy, society, and environment. It insists on integrating the concept of sustainable development into its daily business operations and product research and development.

The acceleration of low-carbon transformation and sustainable development has become a consensus in the technology industry. Green products are a pivotal aspect of realme’s commitment to a leap-forward experience and environmental protection. In terms of product development, realme incorporates the concepts of environmental protection and sustainable development into the life cycle management of its products, encompassing green design, green packaging, hazardous substance control, and product recycling measures.

With “3R+1D” as its design concept, realme is steadfast in promoting the reduction, reuse, recyclability, and degradability of products and packaging. In collaboration with SABIC, the realme GT2 Pro, realme’s most premium flagship smartphone of 2022, is the world’s first smartphone to utilize a biopolymer for its entire rear panel, reducing carbon emissions from manufacturing by 35.5%. This innovative design has been named “Paper Tech Master Design”

Furthermore, realme has established a comprehensive product recycling system to reduce the environmental impact of discarded smartphones. The report reveals that in 2022, a total of 232,000 products were recycled and processed, weighing 49.2 tons; the combined battery weight was 12.4 tons, and the packaging weighed 95.8 tons.

The company places a strong emphasis on the energy efficiency of its products. To ensure that each product achieves optimal energy efficiency, rigorous software optimization and adjustments are conducted before leaving the factory. Additionally, realme has enhanced battery durability with its innovative Battery Health Engine technology. As a result, Realme products maintain up to 80% of their battery capacity even after undergoing 1,600 charging and discharging cycles.

No Leap, No Launch, and Bring Leap-forward Experience to Young People

Under the “no leap, no launch” product concept, realme aims to empower youth to be more adventurous through leap-forward technology and design. It is committed to focusing on leap-forward technological breakthroughs to ensure that every generation of products is equipped with leap-forward technology.

realme has also inaugurated the realme Global Institute of Leap-forward Technology, which primarily focuses on six major sectors: charging, photography, display, gaming, chipset, and industrial design. The Indian branch is primarily responsible for collecting and organizing feedback to ensure the relevance and adaptability of realme’s products in the Indian market. realme’s “Spire” strategy is another cornerstone of its product development approach. Under this strategy, each product is designed to lead with one major leap-forward technology, becoming the pinnacle of a robust realme product lineup.

To Give Back to Society with Practical Actions, Sustainability is the Basis for Being a Healthy and Sustainable Enterprise

realme firmly believes that the growth of enterprises and the development of the industry, as well as the prosperity of society, are interdependent. The value of an enterprise is not only reflected in the quality of its products or services but also in its contribution and responsibility to the industry and society.

realme places great importance on investment in user privacy protection and talent training. For the user privacy protection, realme strictly adheres to applicable global privacy protection laws and regulations, integrating the concept of safeguarding user privacy into product design and embedding privacy protection requirements into every aspect of the personal data processing life cycle. realme’s information security protection system has received certification from DNV.GL (a Norwegian classification society) and the IAF (International Accreditation Forum).

In terms of talent training, realme spares no effort in cultivating and developing talent through a diversified training system and well-defined career development channels. In 2022, a total of 1,200 realme employees received training, accumulating 28,045 hours of training time, fostering the growth of individuals and the organization as a whole.

By prioritizing lightweight designs, realme actively reduces resource consumption and minimizes environmental pollution. This strategic shift allows Realme to reduce the utilization of raw materials and energy, resulting in a decrease in both waste generation and pollutant emissions. This forward-thinking approach not only aligns with Realme’s commitment to environmental responsibility but also significantly enhances the resource efficiency and overall life cycle value of its products.

realme is dedicated to adhering to local laws and regulations in all regions where it operates. The company has established a “Code of Business Conduct” that mandates strict compliance with worldwide laws, regulations, and ethical standards for all employees and external partners. This code is aligned with Realme’s values and business principles during its business operations.

Sky Li, founder and CEO of realme, stated that the commitment to sustainable development will propel realme further. In the future, realme will persist in its long-term goal of delivering leap-forward products to users and becoming the global choice of young people.
