Acer TV gets a strong footprint in India through Indkal’s omnichannel approach


It was in September 2021, that Acer forayed into the home entertainment segment in India with its smart televisions under a license to Bengaluru-based Indkal Technologies. In almost a year’s time, the brand has received a phenomenal response to its smart TV range and has introduced new I-Series with an in-built Android 11 recently. We had the opportunity to have an interaction with Mr. Anand Dubey, CEO, of Indkal Technologies, who discussed the company’s strategy for India and for the product launches for the upcoming festive period.

What is Acer television’s current market position in India?

Since we launched our first line of products in October 2021, our focus remains to deliver high-quality and premium products to market and enhance customer experience. Our customer-first approach has not just allowed us to win their trust but has also helped us establish our presence in an otherwise crowded Indian Smart TV market. Today, Acer Televisions are among the top Smart TV brands online.

What is Indkal’s channel strategy and roadmap to maximize the reach to customers?

While a large part of our sales currently is from various e-commerce channels, we are fast increasing our retail presence as well. We have a very robust strategy in place for the Indian market and are optimistic about growing our footprint here on the back of growing consumer confidence.
We have significantly ramped up our retail presence in the last few months. Acer Televisions are now already available across 3500 stores in over 30 cities, and we will continue to grow our footprint. We are confident, that our omnichannel approach will not just make Acer Televisions more accessible for customers but also help create awareness around the premium features offered by Acer Televisions.

What is the product line highlight for 2022? What are some of the key upcoming launches?

We’re planning for more launches of many new products in the coming months. As of now, Acer Televisions fall under the top percentile in terms of the specs we offer. Our televisions promise excellent features and premium quality which is targeted toward a very wide spectrum of customers.

What are Indkal’s plans for this festive season?

There is a large wave of new models which we will be launching over the next few months till Diwali. This will create a wide set of options in a wide array of product specifications, right from the type of display to sound options, and the performance and connectivity features of the products. This wide set of products will enable us to ensure that there is an Acer television for every type of customer.

How does Indkal plan to further strengthen its after-sales service offerings?

We have established an after-sales service network in more than 18000+ pin codes. To strengthen our after-sales service offerings, we plan to further enhance our reach to ensure that high capability and well-equipped service personnel are available to our customers near to them.
